National Cancer Survivorship Initiative

Children and Young People Services Review

Tuesday, September 18th, 2012

The National Cancer Survivorship Initiative has been working to develop new pathways of care for follow up services for survivors of childhood cancer.  Work has been carried out by York Health Economics Consortium to review services for children and young people.  The final report titled “Review of Cancer Survivorship Services for Children and Young People” is now available.

In 2011 York Health Economics Consortium was commissioned to carry out work to try to understand how to measure the costs of follow-up and to quantify any potential for cost savings or improved efficiency through these changes.  This report summarises work that has been undertaken during 2012 to refine the evidence established during the first phase of work.
