The next steps for the Self Management projects is to focus work around answering the below questions:
Looking at the evidence of impact on patient outcomes of self-management interventions integral to cancer aftercare – How can we predict who will benefit from a self-management course, or less intensive interventions?
How do we ‘risk stratify’ patients for self-management support?
What skills and tools are required to transform the patient/caregiver relationship into a collaborative partnership?
Does supported self-management make economic sense as an integral part of cancer aftercare?
What influences the way in which patients engage with and use self-management information in the context of cancer survivorship? How does this impact on the provision of information prescriptions?
What is the impact of specific lifestyle factors on cancer recurrence, survival, and consequences of treatments?
